This is Me. An Uncommon Self-Awareness Exercise

It’s been said that the unexamined life isn’t worth living. And I believe that to hold so very true. Staying in touch with ourselves is the key to ensuring we’re on the right path.

Every now and then, it doesn’t hurt to hang a question mark on some of the things we have come to believe and accept. But, things change, people change, and circumstances change. And as such, our perspectives can change.

Allow yourself to borrow a few moments from your busy day today and do a bit of self-reflection and evaluation. I put together this simple exercise to help. You’ll be surprised at how the answers to these teeny, tiny questions can make such a huge impact.

As a Woman, I:

excel at…

struggle with…

am overwhelmed by…

secretly fear…

am proud of…

need to work on…

want to learn more about…

secretly wish…

get up every day excited about…

look up to…

could do without…

can’t live without…

As a business owner, I:

need to work on…

want to learn more about…

Here are my answers.
As a Woman, I:

secretly fear… a health concern will come along and rock my world.

am proud of… my resilience and how far I have come.

need to work on… sticking to my schedule. (Wanderlust, anyone?)

want to learn more about… neuroscience.

secretly wish… I got a PhD in Psychology, not to practice- just to have it.

get up every day excited about… creating something new that wasn’t there yesterday.

look up to… Brené Brown.

could do without… repetitive noises. (Misaphonia is in full force over here!)

can’t live without… my husband, my kids, my health, and my friends.

As a business owner, I:

excel at… making genuine connections with people.

struggle with… trying to do it all.

am overwhelmed by… how much time it can take to do things the way I want them done.

secretly fear… that people won’t be thrilled with the offerings I put out there.

am proud of… being able identify and maintain my authenticity.

need to work on… finishing what I start.

want to learn more about… how to present my offerings in a way that best serve my clients.

secretly wish… I had more hours in the day.

get up every day excited about… putting pen to paper (or, fingers to keyboard).

look up to… Sally Hogshead.

can’t live without… my Macbook, and my coffee.

There. That wasn’t so hard.
